2021 ECNS Easter EGGstravaganza and Spring Fling!
|
Rainbow Rice Alphabet Egg Match
You’ll need:
White rice
Vinegar
Food colouring
Easter eggs
Sharpie
The how to:
Making the rice is easy! Make as little or as much as you’d like and as many colours you wish.
Place a cup of rice, 1/2 tsp vinegar, splash of food colouring (more or less depending how dark you want the color) into a Rubbermaid with a lid or an old margarine container. Shake the rice and poor out onto a cookie sheet to dry before playing. Wipe out container and repeat for more rice in other colours.
Making the eggs can be done different ways. I used a sharpie and wrote the letter on top and bottom of each egg to make the match. You could put letter stickers, or Easter stickers duplicated to make a picture match too if not wanting to do letters.
Mix all items in a sensory bin or shallow large Rubbermaid tote and your set!
You can even throw in some small tongs to build on your child’s fine motor and get them using the tongs to pull out the eggs.
This activity allows the opportunity for your child to practice and build their matching, letter recognition and fine motor skills all through sensory play. Have fun!
